In this first time of writing to you all, I want you to know how honored I am to be able to serve as your minister! From the very beginning of the process, it felt very ‘right’, and I am excited to be here and to see what we can accomplish together.
Let me tell you what I see as I look at this church community. First, I see a very dedicated, committed group of people who sincerely love their church. Many ministers would envy the level of commitment that we have here. The care is obvious as I watch how everyone pitches in to get things done. I am so grateful for the opportunity to join you.
Next, I see a very giving community. I had a chance to see the Caregivers team in action one day. The tasks were divided up, and the pile of completed blankets to donate was bigger in just a few hours. When I first came, I watched the collection for Oasis get bigger and bigger as the weeks progressed. The final collection was delivered early in December. I know that the efforts and giving by this community has made a difference in the lives of people in St. Charles.
Finally, I feel such love and support coming from you. You all have been tolerant and supportive of me as I get settled and ‘learn the ropes.’ I see the care that you show each other, and I can feel the love that seems to be you. It is a warm and welcoming place to be. In the months to come, we’ll be getting more organized, having more classes, and participating with other Unity churches in the area. I have a theme for 2015, Remembering Our Wholeness. As we grow together, please know that I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas about our church. Your board and I are committed to making our church community be the best it can be!Share
