The Power of Overcoming
Jesus knew the trials and tribulations of living a human existence, and He wanted to show us how to be an overcomer of the stuff we encounter in our lives. One lesson I have learned is that everything has a purpose in life and has come to teach or reveal something to us. When I think of these words of Jesus in John 14:1,” Let not your heart be troubled…Believe in Me”. He was saying…trust the Spirit in me, the Christ, because it is in you also, and the things that I do, you can do also. It is our overcoming power.
A quote in a pamphlet ‘Reflections on Truth’ written by Bernice Polk says, “Go within to the invisible realm where you are heir of the ages, where there is know-how of everything within. There are tributes of wisdom, inspiration and success etched on the walls of memory. Your story has a happy ending. There is an answer that will send your condition back to the nothingness out of which it came”.
We all possess that spark in us, calling us to be happier, more fulfilled, and more on-purpose. So that which doesn’t support our spiritual growth has to fall to the wayside—or at least change along with us. We come into our full, authentic, powerful, and God-centered being, when we surrender and completely trust the Christ within. That is our overcoming power, and when we come into that realization…we will experience the fullness of life more magnificent than we have imagined.
This is the season of Lent, a time of renewal, a time to build an awareness of our power of overcoming. Join us on Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022 for our Spiritual Communion Service and celebrate Easter with us Sunday, April 17, 2022 at our 10:00 a.m. service. Looking forward to seeing you.
Love, Peace & Joy!
