Letting Our Lights Shine

A new year ahead of us – how exciting! As each year rolls around, we have an opportunity to notice what the previous year brought to us, and we can turn our sights toward making the new year one of love, joy and fulfillment. While we have our unique goals and intentions, we all have something in common. We are all equipped with power to bring those intentions into reality!
Jesus tells us in scripture that one who believes will “also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these…” It may be difficult to imagine that we have the potential that Jesus sees. But consider, what would it be like to bring your dreams and visions into reality? What would it be like to have the ‘works’ that you undertake be wildly successful? You have within you everything you need to do exactly that! You have twelve faculties that, when developed, will bring those visions and works that are yours to do into your life.
The faculties that I refer to are of course, the Twelve Powers. A recent book entitled Power Up by Paul Hasselbeck and Cher Holton, has as the subtitle, “The Twelve Powers Revisited as Accelerated Abilities.” As we go through this year, 2018, we will visit one power or accelerated ability each month.  By focusing on what the ability is and can be used, we can also then perceive how we can utilize it to bring those dreams into reality. Want to lose weight? Write a blog? Paint pictures? Let your imagination roam!
Jesus also advised that we are to let our lights shine. Let us start making that a reality!
