Experience Teaches

It is said our experiences are our teachers. If we look at them with our consciousness raised to the level of spirit, we will see that each experience reveals a path, a divine purpose that we can use to live a full and enriched life.

Some of our experiences are painful, some are gentle, but everything can and does work for our good…if we can move beyond the appearance. In an article I found Daniel Rebant said, “Sometimes the challenges we encounter seem like long dark tunnels, yet every tunnel has a light at the end of it. As we grope in the darkness, we can focus on the faint light we see in the distance which represents the gift…whatever it is we need to learn, to heal or to change.” Now, we can stay in the tunnel moaning and groaning about how dark it is. Or we can continue, and the darkness will pass as we move toward the light, as we gratefully receive the gift at the end of the tunnel…wholeness.

Life is full of choices. There is a lot we can learn from the current events of today’s world. We can learn to exercise patience and understanding. To take time to listen with empathy, after all, we are one in spirit and what affects you affects me. And, put into daily practice unconditional love and acceptance of one another despite our differences. Perhaps these are what today’s experiences have come to teach us.
